Have you ever met Ralph? If so, when and where, let's here it!
Ralph Fiennes was on Broadway doing Hamlet my husband and I flew in from Chicago for the performance which was great. We were in the six row and I gave him a standing ovation others started to stand but sat down but not this old Chicago gal..he bowed right to me . I waited outside after the play to hope to get a glimpse of him about an hour later he walked out by passed other fans and came to me and asked is this what you want and he signed my Playbill needless to say I couldn't catch my breath and then he went into his limo. My sweet husband was on the other side of the barrier and when he walked out took a lovely photo thinking the camera would recharge as he made his way to his much prettier and younger fans. He came right to me and the camera caught me jumping up and down after he signed my Playbill. Mr Fiennes is not only a great actor but a soft spoken kind man. The pen he used is next to the Playbill he signed and I shall never forget his kindness. Candace Serviss

Thank you Candace, I imagined your animals in a warm barn with lots of straw, and it being all warm and fuggy in there, with their rugs on. Booties?? Ear Warmers? The warm smell of enclosed animals, snorting and being close.
Glad it's a warm 32F. If Chicago is that Temperature, I wonder what it is in Canada!!! I am sitting in my office with the fan gently blowing, the sun blazing into the west (it is 5pm), the large gum trees sheltering us from the sun, and the birds have just come out twittering in the trees. :)
Did I read it correctly? I saw on the world map that Chicago had temperatures of minus 40!!! What? I do hope not. You poor things..hope it's getting better now. :)
Hi Candace
love your story about the standing ovation...I 5think that is what we all like about him...that we know somehow he is a kind person........Bravo to you for having such a great adventure ! Yellowdog
Hello, Candace!
I just read your profile. I love your recount of your encounter with RF! I have my pen in a special place, too, and nobody will touch it ever.
I also, and more importantly, admire how you are rescuing animals. I'm curious if you are against horse racing? I tend to really side with the animals, instead of humans, and am always digesting others' opinions. I have "protested" carriage rides in NYC and Philadelphia, PA recently and am looking for a better way to get the word out to more people. My mother raised Arabians on a very small scale. And our house was always filled with stray dogs and cats.
I like your taste in music!
The people here are wonderful, and I think we have a lot of great discussions.
Welcome!
Dana (from VA)
Welcome Candace. That Hamlet meeting was out of this world!!! To recognise you, and choose you out of all others, OMG. No wonder you jumped up and down...a memory never to forget! Thank you for telling us this story.
There are a couple of other stories of women from this site who met Him recently after Oedipus. Have a read of them. They will be under the Oedipus Forums,
there are a few. :)
