first thing first.
at 91', when we left ukraine, the times were very hard. we knew that there is no future for us there. also my co-called friends in one night became very agressive towards me, i don't need to explaine why. we knew that the situation only will be getting worse. so my family took off, and for that i endlessly gratfull. can't imagine what we were doing if we stayed.
i live in israel for 17 years now, my whole life is here. i served the army, got married, gave birth to two wonderful children. i'm happy)))
what i mean when i say inspiration...it's hard to explain. i don't want to say it's love, because it is not. he is like a muse to me)))
but i have to admit, that as the time goes by i get a little bit more distant from him. i guess it's natural. i never understood a long-term relationships with one person. it's like getting stuck in one place. have to move on. it's more exciting that way.
most of us judge him by his roles, and we really shouldn't. we hardly know what kind of person he is. we like his smile, his eyes...fall in love with it, think he's sexy. but i guess it all comes with a package)))
i write about everything that interests or bothers me. about life around us. small things that fills it. sometimes poems. people say it's good, but i'm too afraid to go and give it to a magazine or, god forbid, a book editor. i write in russian, it's my language. allways will be.

Sorry if I confused you. No, sadly I have not met Mr. Fiennes, though I would absolutely love too. By having "known" him, I mean through his work: his films, his audio recordings (I highly recommend the Kipling CD and also The English Patient CD. They're both awesome!), also all the interviews I've ever seen and read. This is how I know Mr. Fiennes. Sadly, I've never seen him on stage and don't know when I'll be able to. I guess till then we can always visit in my dreams...and those I keep to myself. ; )

I love your questions though I'm not sure I can easily or completely answer them. Why Ralph Fiennes and not George Clooney or Brad Pitt?
How do we adequately explain what touches our hearts? Why one person's form or features or character and not another? I don't think some things can be properly packaged in words. I may never be able to sensically explain why it's Ralph. I just know with complete certainty that is and as no one has ever touched my heart before. There is not a day since I've known him that he has not made me smile. Yes, there is a brilliant talent and yes, there are good looks, but that isn't it, not on its own. Like you said, Clooney and others have the same in varying degrees and forms. Ralph just has something that touches my heart and soul deeply and continually. It could be the light and feeling behind the eyes and smile, it could be the inspiring commitment and passion that shines through in his work and makes me want to be a better artist myself. Heck, it can be the way the man reads Kipling or Ondaatje. It could all of the above and more. I've decided not to worry about how well I can explain it. I'd rather commit the time to being in this moment and appreciating it. Hope that all makes some sense. : )
