All Things Ralph

Well many who have known me over the years won't be surprised by this one. My favorite onscreen Ralph Fiennes moment is the kiss in Strange Days at the end. All that sexual tension building throughout the movie on Mace's side, and it's like the lightbulb finally goes off for Lenny, and he get's it. Any of us who have had crushes on guy friends that have gone a little farther than friends know this moment...it's a blissful treasure when it works.
LOVE IT!!!

Second favorite (yes we can post more than one)...the scene in Quiz Show where he's eating cake and puts the milk bottle to his face, talking about how we can never get that same feeling we had as kids...etc...and when his father says "not until you have a son...". I always almost boohoo at that part, partly because RF won't ever know that feeling...I know it's a fictional character...but it makes me sad sometimes that in reality Ralph won't ever know that...oh well...

Those are mine! Mary

Duh...I GET IT NOW!!!

They were six and he was the oldest. That means reponsibility for the others even in childhood. Perhaps he doesn't want to repeat this burdening feeling. I think this decison belongs to his privacy.
In my opinion: to have a child is the greatest and best experience of life. But Ralph isn't a father.type and his art and work occupies him totally (and you can't explain to a blind what is red.)
One thing is clear: those who don't want children eagerly may not create one.

oh, your`re right. Nobody can trust this unfaithful lusty-eyed bloke )))
The woman, who will have decided to become a mother of Ralph`s child, won`t be happy. It isn`t even funny...

Yeah, I think there is definitely no end to the volunteers to surrogate his baby...but in the end I'm not sure anyone could trust him...ughh...

although any of us would love to have his child, am I right? just speculatively...
perhaps you`re right - he wouldn`t be a good father.

Haha, I agree with you on that one about the son. Well, many of us have held out the hope he'll see the light, find a young "breeder" and settle down, but his behavior points to a different kind of life. Not sure he'd be a great father, some people are just to self focused to be parents...and that's okay. I respect those who recognize their limitations in that area. It would be cool to see a little Ralph. Some of us have always contended that his biological clock will tick by the mid 40's and he'd change his mind...we shall see.

why do you think that Ralph won`t be a father? He isn`t so old.
I wish he had a son (women aren`t beautiful in their family).
