What is your favorite Ralph Fiennes Film?
All of them Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket Maybe the best answer is which do I watch the most? If you ask my husband, he'll say "The Constant Gardener". He's certain I can recite this film in my sleep! Another one I know by heart is "Wuthering Heights" (I always loved the book too!). Now I know that "The Avengers" is not generally popular but any man who can save the world with nothing but a bowler hat and an umbrella and look that adorable doing it is completely wonderful in my book! What is your least favorite Ralph Fiennes film?
None of them
Have you ever met Ralph? If so, when and where, let's here it!
Have not had the pleasure of meeting this wonderful man, but did receive a wonderful "thank you" note from him for some home made biscotti I sent when he was doing Faith Healer on Broadway. Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
About Me:
I'm an itty-bitty Cuban woman from New Jersey who arrived in South Carolina by way of Florida. (Ok...I like road trips. ) I am married Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket, have three amazing children, two silly doggies, and a deep fondness for one particularly wonderful Brit. Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket Other loves and passions include art, both appreciating the works of others and sad attempts at my own work (I have posted some drawings on here, including one of Ralph.) I mostly draw and do decoupage. I love to read and write! I write to friends. I think old-fashioned correspondence needs to be kept alive and e-mail isn't quite the same. : ) I love just about all things Victorian including the literature of the day. I love to cook and bake... when I have time! I sing with a praise and worship group at my church, which I love! And being in places like this and the Ralph Fiennes Forum. I have made some truly wonderful friends! : )

Favorite Music:
All kinds!! (possible exceptions are heavy metal and rap) I do have a bit of a weakness for sappy love songs...and I love to sing! Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket The songs I've posted here are some of my current favorites. I recently started playing the violin with my husband. One of the songs I'm trying to learn (and not butcher too horribly in the process!) is called "Ashokan Farewell" by Jay Ungar. I recently added it to my playlist. It's a beautiful song. : )
Favorite TV Shows:
Not into TV much. I love movies and theatre and books! Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
I've been reading through "Onegin" by Alexander Pushkin translated by Charles Johnston. My most recent favorite book is "On Pilgrimage" by Jennifer Lash (Ralph's mother) This has been completely wonderful and I highly recommend it! Old favorites are "Living, Loving & Learning" by Leo Buscaglia, "The Signature of Jesus" by Brennan Manning and "The Gifts of the Sea" by Anne Morrow Lindbergh. : )

My Artwork

I mentioned a while ago that I like to artwork but, aside from my drawing of Ralph, haven't shown anything. Here are some things I've done in the past year or so.... This is Dunwich Heath in Suffolk, England

This is from another photo taken somewhere in Britain.… Continue

Hi Liza
I have never heard of 'Sufflolk Song Cycles' by his mum, I knew that she was a writer, what a great find!!!!

In the RF biography book, there is mention of his childhood home, before he went to Ireland aged 7. Funnily enough we went to stay with my uncle last year and he lives in Norfolk, the next county up from Suffolk. The beach that was just a few minutes away from Ralph's home, was one that we went to as it was only a few miles from my uncles house!!! If we go up there again this summer I will definitely try and see if I can see his old home and village where he lived.

This is a picture of Southwold.

Hi Liza

hope you are ok. I love Katie Melua, what a voice she has..... thanks for adding her song.

How do you manage to find these recordings of Ralph reading?? I am just listening to 'The Whale' story!!! It's great........... Where is it from?

Like you say, until the price of gas goes down, you won't be coming to Egland any time soon in your van!!! If I manage to go the the National Theatre, I will fill you in on all the details, and hopefully one day, he will come and visit a stage near to you....... Is New York a long way from you?? It is a great expense to take time out when you have a family and work.

Petrol (gas) prices in England have gone crazy. At the moment I pay £1.20 per litre, which works out to be $11 per gallon. To fill my average family car up costs over $100.... everyone here in England, is having to make cut backs and be carefull with money. When you have kids, you put them first. I don't buy myself much, I try and be not too materialistic...... My one weakness is Ralph Fiennes, he is my treat. His DVD's, his plays.

Take care

The only RF films that I have seen on the big screen are the'Harry Potter' films, Schindler's List and The Constant Gardener. I would love to see The English Patient or Wuthering Heights at the cinema, but they never seem to screen old films. I missed 'In Bruges', as by the time I got round to checking on it at the cinema, it had finished it's run!!!! However, there is a little theatre about 5 miles away, that shows films ages after they are released. In Bruges is playing mid August, when we are away on holiday camping by the sea!!!!!! Typical!!!!

I saw The constant gardener at this little theatre. The seats are really uncomforable, if I ever mention the film to my husband, all he thinks of is those seats and his sore butt!!!!

There were a lot of elderly people watching the film with us, and they were all very uncomfortable with the love scene at the beginning of the film!!!! Some of them even gasped in horror, unbelievable!!!! But funny!!!

I do love that film, especially the bit where they are discussing baby names while she is putting the dangly thing over the cot.......... His smile lights up his whole face!!!! I also love it when he smiles when she says 'you can learn me'... Just can't take my eyes off of him when he is in a scene!!!

She is 9 now, the photo was taken when she was 4!! She has recently watched 'Wuthering Heights' with me and loved it. I told her the story previously, so she thought it was great to be able to see in on TV. She couldn't understand why Cathy died, she wanted to know why a doctor couldn't have helped her live.......

She, along with her older sister love Harry Potter and recently saw 'Maid in Manhatten' on TV. They do tease me a bit over my love of RF and would rather see 'High School Musical' or 'The Simpsons', than anything with Ralph in. But I'm sure as they grow up they will appreciate him as I do.

My eldest is coming up to 13, so I will take her to see 'The Duchess'. I nearly took her to 'God of Carnage', as it did say minimum age 12, but decided against it as my ticket cost $100!!

I liked it when you said that you couldn't believe that you and your husband had survived your adolescences and that of your kids too!!!!!! Well I survivived mine, and my daughter will be 13 in a couple of weeks!!! Heaven help me!!!!!

Take care Sheraton

Everyone says that my daughter has hazel eyes! I always thought hazel was light brown like a hazelnut, but I guess you are right that they change colour from greeny to goldy or sometimes blue, depending on what clothes you wear or what your surroundings are.

What a boy our Ralphy is, even his eyes are mysterious!!!!

I totally agree with Trugannini, this is a great page!!! I love your new member picture...Is it taken from the video of him when he's talking about being Hamlet??

My daughter has a 'red, white and blue' disco this evening to celebrate 'Independence Day'. Do you do anything special today? Do you have to go to work or school, or does everyone have a day off???

Take care Sheraton
