Ralph Fiennes...love him no matter what.

Maybe the best answer is which do I watch the most? If you ask my husband, he'll say "The Constant Gardener". He's certain I can recite this film in my sleep! Another one I know by heart is "Wuthering Heights" (I always loved the book too!). Now I know that "The Avengers" is not generally popular but any man who can save the world with nothing but a bowler hat and an umbrella and look that adorable doing it is completely wonderful in my book!

, have three amazing children, two silly doggies, and a deep fondness for one particularly wonderful Brit.
Other loves and passions include art, both appreciating the works of others and sad attempts at my own work (I have posted some drawings on here, including one of Ralph.) I mostly draw and do decoupage. I love to read and write! I write to friends. I think old-fashioned correspondence needs to be kept alive and e-mail isn't quite the same. : ) I love just about all things Victorian including the literature of the day. I love to cook and bake... when I have time! I sing with a praise and worship group at my church, which I love! And being in places like this and the Ralph Fiennes Forum. I have made some truly wonderful friends! : )
The songs I've posted here are some of my current favorites. I recently started playing the violin with my husband. One of the songs I'm trying to learn (and not butcher too horribly in the process!) is called "Ashokan Farewell" by Jay Ungar. I recently added it to my playlist. It's a beautiful song. : )

Hi LizaI have never heard of 'Sufflolk Song Cycles' by his mum, I knew that she was a writer, what a great find!!!!
In the RF biography book, there is mention of his childhood home, before he went to Ireland aged 7. Funnily enough we went to stay with my uncle last year and he lives in Norfolk, the next county up from Suffolk. The beach that was just a few minutes away from Ralph's home, was one that we went to as it was only a few miles from my uncles house!!! If we go up there again this summer I will definitely try and see if I can see his old home and village where he lived.
This is a picture of Southwold.
hope you are ok. I love Katie Melua, what a voice she has..... thanks for adding her song.
How do you manage to find these recordings of Ralph reading?? I am just listening to 'The Whale' story!!! It's great........... Where is it from?
Like you say, until the price of gas goes down, you won't be coming to Egland any time soon in your van!!! If I manage to go the the National Theatre, I will fill you in on all the details, and hopefully one day, he will come and visit a stage near to you....... Is New York a long way from you?? It is a great expense to take time out when you have a family and work.
Petrol (gas) prices in England have gone crazy. At the moment I pay £1.20 per litre, which works out to be $11 per gallon. To fill my average family car up costs over $100.... everyone here in England, is having to make cut backs and be carefull with money. When you have kids, you put them first. I don't buy myself much, I try and be not too materialistic...... My one weakness is Ralph Fiennes, he is my treat. His DVD's, his plays.
Take care

What a great picture of Ralph to have on your desk at work!!!!
I saw The constant gardener at this little theatre. The seats are really uncomforable, if I ever mention the film to my husband, all he thinks of is those seats and his sore butt!!!!
There were a lot of elderly people watching the film with us, and they were all very uncomfortable with the love scene at the beginning of the film!!!! Some of them even gasped in horror, unbelievable!!!! But funny!!!
I do love that film, especially the bit where they are discussing baby names while she is putting the dangly thing over the cot.......... His smile lights up his whole face!!!! I also love it when he smiles when she says 'you can learn me'... Just can't take my eyes off of him when he is in a scene!!!

She, along with her older sister love Harry Potter and recently saw 'Maid in Manhatten' on TV. They do tease me a bit over my love of RF and would rather see 'High School Musical' or 'The Simpsons', than anything with Ralph in. But I'm sure as they grow up they will appreciate him as I do.
My eldest is coming up to 13, so I will take her to see 'The Duchess'. I nearly took her to 'God of Carnage', as it did say minimum age 12, but decided against it as my ticket cost $100!!
I liked it when you said that you couldn't believe that you and your husband had survived your adolescences and that of your kids too!!!!!! Well I survivived mine, and my daughter will be 13 in a couple of weeks!!! Heaven help me!!!!!
Take care Sheraton
Everyone says that my daughter has hazel eyes! I always thought hazel was light brown like a hazelnut, but I guess you are right that they change colour from greeny to goldy or sometimes blue, depending on what clothes you wear or what your surroundings are.
What a boy our Ralphy is, even his eyes are mysterious!!!!

What colour are his eyes??? I know the are light, and sort of bluey green, they appear different in different pictures of him!!!!!

An interesting phone interview form the internet. Enjoy!!

My daughter has a 'red, white and blue' disco this evening to celebrate 'Independence Day'. Do you do anything special today? Do you have to go to work or school, or does everyone have a day off???
Take care Sheraton
